We're 9 Months Old!

First off, here are the new stats! Camden weighs 17lb 11oz and is 28.5 inches tall, Skylar weighs 22lb 7oz and is 28 inches tall.

This month has been an eventful one with lots of changes. The boys are now big enough to sit in their stroller without the car seats. They also are becoming more mobile and enjoy sitting, standing, rolling from front to back, and vice versa, and trying to crawl (but really only scooting a few inches or turning in circles). They are a lot more vocal and interactive and enjoy deep conversation, laughing, yelling and playing peek-a-boo. They are getting in touch with their musical sides as well and like to rock, wave, bounce and tap to music. Stranger anxiety has also set in, with a touch of separation anxiety, so a new face and/or distance from mom, dad or Jessica has become a recipe for disaster.

We are also exploring a wide variety of new foods these days. We continue to give them cereal with fruit each morning and bottles throughout most of the day but for dinner we have experimented with new pureed recipes including creamy chicken and asparagus soup, black beans, chicken and spinach casserole, etc. We are also experimenting with some new finger foods, which continues to be a messy adventure. They really enjoy yogurt or cottage cheese with their fruit. Camden is becoming a pro at drinking from his sippy cup but Skylar still isn't very interested (I think maybe he just doesn't quite like water yet).

Among other firsts, the boys went to the playground and got to swing for the first time this past weekend, and they got their first haircuts! We really wanted to wait until their first birthday and take them to a kids' barbershop, but they looked a hot mess so Tim gave them each a quick trim to tide them over.

Unfortunately, both boys are currently dealing with a few minor problems. Skylar will have to see a pediatric urologist soon and possibly have surgery for an undescended testicle within the next few months and Camden is anemic and extremely constipated. But, in the big scheme of things, they are both healthy and doing extremely well!

I am sure I have left out some things, but I think this mostly covers it!

Until next time...
