It's hard to believe another month (and a half) has passed already! There have been a lot of changes in our household...both of the boys are walking very well so we finally had to childproof the house. We have edge guards, baby gates and outlet covers everywhere! The boys are all over the place and constantly on the move. They definitely keep us on our toes!
Currently, some of their favorite games include "Arms up," giving high fives, clapping their hands and chasing each other around. They thoroughly enjoy all of their toys and continue to be extremely vocal...no real words yet but that's to be expected given that they are learning both Spanish and English simultaneously. Camden also still enjoys dancing.
As for growth, Skylar's last weight was approximately 26 pounds and Camden's was 20 pounds. Camden does have a very healthy (and picky) appetite but his metabolism is just a lot faster and he is always on the move. We found out that Camden was anemic and finally figured out that he has thalassemia trait, which is not a big deal. It just means he will always be mildly anemic and when he wants to have children, his wife should be tested to make sure she does not also have thalassemia trait. In other news, Skylar had his second surgery, so he is done with procedures!!!
Their personalities continue to be completely opposite. Camden is very sensitive and giving, loves approval and is definitely a thinker and observer. Skylar, on the other hand, is very strong-willed, aggressive, spontaneous and emotional. They recently participated in the one-year follow up to the Twin Study they are a part of, and neither one of them would go to sleep for the MRI, but they performed very differently on the assessment portion; Camden completed tasks that few two-year-olds can perform, but poor Skylar was so focused on hoarding everything that he couldn't focus on the tasks, despite being fully capable of doing them.
Christmas was very nice for us. A few nights before, we went to Tanglewood Festival of Lights and drove through the light exhibit with the boys. They seemed to at least be entertained by the lights so it was worth it. On Christmas day, we let them each open one present; Skylar was again very focused on helping Camden open his and on hoarding the wrapping paper. They spent the rest of the day playing with all their toys, new and old!
I guess that's it for now. Life continues to be an amazingly wonderful and hectic adventure and we wouldn't trade a second of it!
